1 Day Zanzibar Cruise

Our Zanzibar day cruise takes you out from Stone Town to snorkel over colourful coral reefs. You enjoy two snorkelling sessions and stunning views of the reef. In between, you relax on the boat with delicious traditional Swahili food and snacks made from seasonal fruits. As a result, it is one of the easiest ways to see the underwater side of Zanzibar.

Trip overview

The meeting time is 8:30 am, and the trip takes roughly 5–6 hours. So, by about 2 pm, you are back at the One Ocean Dive Center in Stone Town. The waters here hide large coral reefs, long plunging walls and underwater mountains. Together, they form a haven for many fish species. You can choose to snorkel or dive, and each session lasts 45 minutes.

Your day on the water

Morning: check-in and briefing

When you meet at the dive centre, you first complete the payment and paperwork. Then, your diving guide gives you a simple briefing before you board the boat. You also receive your rental equipment, including a mask, snorkel, fins and a wetsuit.

First snorkelling session

Once you reach the reef, you head out for your first session. You can either dive or snorkel for 45 minutes. Afterwards, you return to the boat to relax with drinking water, snacks, fruit or even local food.

Second session and return

Next, you go for your second snorkel or dive, again for 45 minutes. Finally, you sail back to the dive centre in the early afternoon.

• Seafood barbecue. The beautiful Kwale Island offers delicious seafood and side dishes, plus a chance to enjoy the island’s nature.
• Sandbank visit. Visit the sandbank to enjoy fresh fruit and a swim in the ocean.
• Dhow cruise. Sail to the inner islands on a traditional dhow boat. The dhow will be just for you, unless you ask for the shared tour.
