The island was a custody of stubborn slaves in the early 1800s before it was stormed with the yellow fever epidemics. The major attraction here the tortoises that were gifted to the island in 1919. The oldest tortoise is now 192 years, and they are now listed on the IUCN red list. Beach relaxation. Being an island on one of the world’s largest water bodies; the Indian Ocean.
