Day 1: Hotel/Airport pick up in Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Our expert driver-guide will welcome you upon arrival at the Kigali International Airport and head to the Republic of Uganda through the rolling hills of Rwanda. Driving through Ruhengeri in the Musanze province, and proceeding to the Cyanika border or Gatuna Border posts in Kisoro or Kabale districts respectively having great views of the volcanoes, twin lakes or Lake Mutanda. Due to the beauty along the way, you can have photography moments as you head to the lodge.
There will be a check-in and out of the immigration offices at the border post before proceeding through to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park in Uganda. Upon arrival at the park, you will have several options of where to track the mountain gorillas with Nkuringo and Rushaga sectors emerging the best as they are very close to the border with Rwanda. However, other sectors include Ruhija and the Buhoma that equally offer the best experience. Have your Dinner and Overnight.

Day 2: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking & Back to Kigali
After a very delicious early morning breakfast, you will walk to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking. The Uganda wildlife authority guides will take you through all the dos and don’ts while with mountain gorillas, this whole briefing might last for roughly 30 minutes to one hour before you head to the jungle for a 3-4 hour trekking depending on how far the gorillas have moved.
The park rangers start the tracking from the last point they encountered the mammals the previous day following the broken tree branches while enjoying the sweet melodies of the birds in the air, alongside the beautiful sights of some primates you may come across. Upon finding the gorillas, you will be given one hour to just relax and watch them play and interact.
After such an awesome experience, the driver will then drive you back to Kigali Rwanda through Katuna or Cyanika border for your overnight stay in Kigali town or your international departure flight. Please ensure that you book flights that depart late from Kigali International Airport if you intend to fly back on the second day.
